For I Know The Plans I Have For You

Senior portrait sessions hold such a special place in my heart!

Every cap + gown. Every proud smile. Every nervous laugh.

Whether it is a high school senior standing on the edge of adulthood, a college graduate stepping boldly into a career, or a sweet kindergarten graduate beaming with pride, this moment carries weight. It carries promise. It carries such a purpose thats bigger than our plan for ourselves.

The Bible verse Jeremiah 29:11 has always meant so much to me. Not just because it is beautiful, but because I have truly lived it.

When I started college, I was pursuing my teaching degree. I completed my associate’s degree fully believing I knew exactly what my future would look like. I had a plan. A clear one (or so I thought)!

But God had something different in mind.

Photography entered my life quietly at first. It felt creative and exciting, but I never imagined it would become my calling. Looking back now, I see His fingerprints all over it. The closed doors. The redirected steps. The unexpected turns.

It took several redirections for me to land exactly where I was meant to be.

And every single one of them mattered.

So if you are a senior reading this and you are not quite sure what you “want to be when you grow up,” let me gently tell you something important:

That is completely okay.

You do not have to have it all figured out at eighteen. Or twenty two. Or even later than that. Sometimes clarity comes through movement. Sometimes purpose is revealed through detours. Sometimes the plan unfolds one small faithful step at a time.

God will put you exactly where He wants you every single time.

I am living proof of that.

Even though I am not standing in a traditional classroom, I still get to be part of the school scene in a way that feels deeply meaningful. I get to celebrate milestones. I get to encourage students. I get to witness that breathtaking in between season where everything feels possible.

Maybe that is exactly why senior photography is my passion.

I get to document a turning point. I get to capture the excitement before graduates fully discover, or boldly step into, the plan God has for their lives.

Some already know where they are headed. They have chosen their college. They have mapped out their next chapter. Others are still searching, still praying, still discovering.

Both are beautiful.

I love capturing the anticipation. The confidence building in their posture. The spark in their eyes that says something meaningful is ahead.

Because it is.

Senior photography is about more than outfits and locations. It is about honoring hard work, celebrating growth, and freezing a moment when faith meets the future.

I want every graduate to look back years from now and remember exactly how hopeful they felt in this season.

If you had told me years ago that I would be photographing graduates, cheering them on, and praying over their futures, I probably would have just smiled politely and returned to my original plan.

But God knew.

And I am so grateful that His plans are greater than anything I could have written for myself.

Always remember that this chapter matters. The late nights, the early mornings, the lessons learned, the prayers whispered, the redirections you did not understand at the time. They all led you here.

And before the tassel turns and life moves forward at full speed, this moment deserves to be remembered + captured.

Not just because you graduated.

But because you trusted God with your future.

Because you kept going.

Because you are stepping into something bigger than you can see.

It would be such an honor to stand in this season with you, to celebrate what has been and speak life over what is ahead, and to preserve this sacred turning point in a way that you can hold onto forever.

Your story is unfolding exactly as it should.

Whether you're a nervous high school senior, determined college graduate, or sweet kindergarten graduate dreaming of becoming an astronaut or ballerina, your story is unfolding exactly as it should. Whether your next step is crystal clear or still coming into focus, there is purpose in your path. There is hope in your future. And there is a faithful God guiding every step.
